Geshe Thubten Soepa biography
Geshe Thubten Soepa was born in Zanskar, India in 1955. At the age of fourteen he entered the monastery of Dromo Geshe Rinpoche in Kalimpong and at 19, he was sent to Sera Je monastery in South India.  He studied for 21 years at Sera Jey monastery. Geshe Thubten Soepa received his Lharampa Geshe degree at Sera Je Monastic University in 1994. He later taught for three years in Sera and Dzongar Choden monasteries.
He was resident teacher at Aryatara Institute in Germany for 7 years, and has taught at many other FPMT centers around the world, including Jamyang Buddhist Centre in the UK, Oseling in Spain, Panchen Losang Chogyen in Austria and Lama Yeshe Ling in Canada.Lama Zopa Rinpoche, the spiritual director of FPMT said of Geshe-la in September 2008: "Old students who want to get any philosophical subject more clear, who want to refine their understanding, can do this in a very informal way with Geshe-la, like question and answer, discussion. Geshe-la is good on philosophy and easy to discuss with. Geshe-la has studied very widely and broadly - not just Gelugpa but also Kagyu, Nyingma and Sakya texts - Geshe-la can be good at talking to new people in a straightforward manner."

A big thank you to Pastor Matt, Sean, Ed, Bailey, Jenny and to all those who attended! You can view pictures of the event posted on the Gallery page.
